Enter through porch, to living w/smart TV w/Netflix etc, woodburner, dining room with built-ins full of games & jigsaws, loaded kitchen -gas hob, Nespresso, dishwasher, iron stairs to garden w/BBQ, seating. King & Superking (or twin) doubles on top floor w/bathroom. Garden floor: king bed with en suite shower room, dressing area. Private door to garden. Loads of Golden Valley walks, canal, close to Stroud, Gatcombe. Key Cottage - come & relax!

We are surrounded by wooded and hillside walks, there is a kids' playground very close by and village shop is also walking distance. The canal and river are at the bottom of the valley and there are cafĂŠs and pubs all walking distance from the cottage. We are at the top of the Golden Valley between Chalford and Stroud. There are 5 valleys all starting in Stroud. These 5 valleys are the reason the Stroud valleys have been nicknamed the Devil's Claw- it is said once you have visited you will feel compelled to return.....(or maybe it's because of the stunning vistas, the many official AONBs (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the chill friendly people who live here....).

Good to know

Three floors- 2 king sized beds, 1 king size sofa bed, 2 singles which can be converted to a superking bed. One full bathroom, one full shower room. Middle floor has a kitchen and dining room with living room where there is a woodburner and wide screen tv. Lots of outdoor seating areas.

It is a lovely, cottage in a very pretty and peaceful setting. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden at the end of the day and summer evening strolls to local pubs - the Ram and the Lamb. The accommodation is well-equipped and comfortable, and all the instructions are very clear. We had a great time and would love to come back.

We were absolutely charmed by Key Cottage and Ali, our host. The Cottage looked just like the photos, and was so well stocked with toiletries, coffee, kitchen dishes and utensils, fans, blanket, and bed linens, thick towels and phone charging cables next to the bed ( now that was special!) Ali was an exceptionally proactive communicator and thoughtful host...allowing us to check in two hours early and leaving prosecco and cookies for our arrival. We all fell in love with the cottage and environs, including our countryside walk and dinner at The Ram. We highly recommend The Key Cottage and thank Ali for her wonderful hospitality.

Lovely cottage in peaceful location surrounded by beautiful countryside with lots of walks. Stroud, an interesting, old Cotswolds town, is 15 minutes drive away. The cottage itself was very comfortable and supplied with all the amenities you could ask for. All were well organised with lots of useful notes and information. Communication and instructions from Ali were timely and helpful. She made the stay as easy and relaxing as possible. We had a great introduction to the Cotswolds and really enjoyed our time at Key Cottage.

We had a lovely stay at Key Cottage. It’s in a very peaceful country location, with some great pubs within a short driving distance. It was the perfect base for our first visit to the Cotswolds. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped and beds are super comfortable. Ali’s communication was really clear and helpful, with recommendations for local walks and restaurants. Check-in and check-out were smooth and easy. Some nice touches like a bottle of Prosecco, cookies and Easter chocolate. We highly recommend Key Cottage!

I had a fantastic long weekend at Key Cottage with girlfriends. Alison is an extremely thoughtful & attentive host. The cottage is a little gem, well equipped with everything we needed to settle right in, relax & enjoy our stay. The local area is beautiful. Highlights of our stay were walking to Stroud along the canal, dinner at The Ship Inn, & Winstone's ice-creams on Rodborough Common. Thoroughly recommended!

La mia famiglia e i nostri amici siamo stati benissimo in questo fantastico cottage. Tutto è perfetto, dalla posizione, alla pulizia, agli attrezzi in cucina, i letti comodi, l'ambiente che ti fa sentire a casa. C'erano molti giochi da tavola, puzzle, libri, tante piccole attenzioni come the, caffè, zucchero, ecc e anche cose buone per una bella accoglienza. Ci siamo sentiti a casa e anche se il tempo non è stato clemente e quindi non abbiamo potuto esplorare molto la zona non ci siamo annoiati nemmeno un momento. L'hoast è molto gentile e reattivo e da molte spiegazioni sulla zona. Torneremo sicuramente 😍
